We’ve expanded our database! We’re excited to announce that we’ve made another significant update to our UK food and nutrient database with an additional 15,000 items. Read on to find out more.
Continuing our commitment to provide our customers with accurate and up-to-date nutritional information, we have added another 15,000 branded food and drink items to our UK database, taking the total number of items available to 80,000!
We’ve worked hard to ensure that the new items cover the broad range of food and drink items available at supermarkets as well as ‘on-the-go’ items, reflective of the vast choice available to consumers, supporting more accurate recalls and dietary assessments.
The myfood24 UK database now comprises:
- 10 of the 11 main supermarkets
- All 5 major coffee shop chains
- 9 of the leading fast food outlets
Other new sources to myfood24 include:
- Popular meal preparation delivery services
- Sports nutrition products
- A new stand-alone database containing commonly consumed South Asian dishes
- Plus many more!!
Our data experts have also been busy ensuring the nutrient profile of our items is as comprehensive as possible through our unique mapping process to provide information on up to 100 nutrients, vitamins, and minerals for all products.
In line with the latest update to McCance a McCance and Widdowson’s ‘Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset’ we have updated the nutrient profile of food items highlighted in the update including cuts of pork, watercress, soya yoghurt and sweet potato.
