We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the myfood24 team on expanding our core UK dataset to reach over 100,000 food and drink items!
The data team – Grace, Anaïs and Paulina, have been working extremely hard to hit this milestone.
Having this extensive dataset allows our researchers, teachers and healthcare professionals to conduct more accurate dietary assessments.
Participants can easily choose from a wide variety of food and drink items – varying from restaurants, major fast food outlets, meal kit delivery companies, sport nutrition retailers, coffee shops and supermarkets – putting them in control of selecting the most suitable food item, creating a more accurate representation of their diet.
Not only do we have a wide variety of food sources, but we have also captured the vast choice of branded supermarket products available representing market trends including ready meals, free from and vegan products.

Here is what our Database Manager, Grace, and our Database Support, Anaïs has to say on this fantastic achievement –
At Dietary Assessment Ltd – current, accurate and evidence-based data is the foundation of everything we do.
Our data team work tirelessly to ensure the fidelity of our dataset – which is never crowdsourced, unlike other tools available. Our team undertake a unique mapping exercise to match back of pack data from branded food products to nutrient data from food composition tables to provide better coverage of micronutrient values such as B6, B12 and iron.
The team then carry out a rigorous quality control activity to ensure the accuracy of the data and to enhance the searchability of the food and nutrient dataset. The result is a high quality dataset that’s more nutritionally complete than other food composition databases available meeting the rigorous standards demanded by our customers.
